A Los Angeles fulfillment company
Logistics & 3PL

A Los Angeles fulfillment company.

A branded client portal replaced the daily "where's my order?" email

Client background

Where they started.

A Los Angeles third-party logistics company that stores, picks, packs and ships for consumer brands. Every brand wanted the same things — today's orders, what's in stock, when the inbound container lands, how their reps are doing — and every one of them got it the same way: an email to an account manager, a spreadsheet export from the warehouse system, and a reply a few hours later. As the roster grew, the replies took longer, and the people answering were the same people running the warehouse.

Challenges

Key obstacles to overcome.

The hurdles they needed to clear.

The same questions, by hand

Order status, inventory, inbound receipts and rep performance pulled manually from the warehouse system for each request, several times a day.

Data nobody else could see

The warehouse platform held the truth, but exposing it to clients meant the wrong tool or no tool at all.

Late, inconsistent reports

Brands compared numbers from different exports on different days; account managers spent evenings reconciling.

A phased budget

The first release had to pay for itself before the full program was funded.

Our solution

How we approached it.

A comprehensive approach to modernizing their IT infrastructure.

A portal in the brand's language

Each brand signs in to its own view — orders, inventory, inbound shipments, reps and feedback — on the fulfillment company's own domain.

Live warehouse data

The portal reads directly from the warehouse system, so a brand sees what the warehouse sees, with no employee in the loop.

Reports on a schedule

Operations reports are built in and emailed on a cadence, replacing the export-and-forward routine.

Passwordless sign-in

Magic-link sign-in on the company's domain — no passwords to reset, no shared logins between brands.

Phase one first

A five-phase program scoped up front; Phase 1 shipped as a stand-alone win before Phase 2 was committed.

Outcomes

Measurable impact.

Lasting results that compound over time.

Status questions without a ticket

Brands self-serve orders, inventory and inbound status; account managers get their day back.

One version of the truth

Every brand and every employee reads the same live figures from the same system.

Reports on time, every time

Scheduled reporting replaced manual exports.

A front door for growth

New brands are onboarded to the portal, not to an inbox — the service scales without adding account managers.

Delivered in phases

Phase 1 live within the quarter, with the roadmap for the remaining phases agreed and funded step by step.
